Played my first (solo) tryout game of #greathelm and I was a big fan. I can see it being carnage with 6 knights per side (and an opponent!)
It was fairly evenly matched until it was down to two knights, then one failed a Courage test due to the gore generated by the guy that HE gruesomely slayed!

Yeah - raw spray is like trenchy awfulness, or Sludge!! Drybrush, stones and rocks is like badlands, add the grass and it's a medieval stew

More #Greathelm business... I made my own map based on the paper one by @relicsean.bsky.social
I'm now covered in - and have almost run out of - static grass 🗡️
Very excited to get a game in soon though, so it'll all be worth it!

6 knights clash on the completed Greathelm board, an A4 playing area made of foam board, static grass, sand, and small stones

The beginnings of a masterpiece! Sand on foamboard atop some other hobby stuff

The earlier board given an initial spray of black, then brown (with more brown on the path areas)

I'd started to drybrush and had added some stones and clump foliage

I've kickstartered Great Helm, the new one-box skirmish game by @malev-da-shinobi.bsky.social and so this week I've been painting up some Victrix knights and I'm ready for a playtest game!

Finished up some Zoanthropes for my xenomorph-inspired Tyranids. Black with a drybrushing of Death Korps Drab+White, carapace finely edge highlighted with Thunderhawk Blue. Brain bits are Moot Green+Thunderhawk, highlighted with Moot then a bit of white mixed in (for those interested 🤣)

I made some ghost Vikings / Normans / Saxons who are mainly Wargames Atlantic Dark Age Irish with added WGA zombie heads. I loosely followed a @gardensofhecate.bsky.social tutorial to paint em and as you can see, they came out exceedingly well

I converted up a Flesh Tearers Terminator Captain. Mainly he's the Leviathan guy but with a Blood Angels chest, an old Sanguinary Guard relic fist and a Death Company head

Aliens (and ant) inspired all-black scheme, using a highlight colour I mixed myself and have now run out of 🙃

Have you ever seen an ant? What about the film Aliens? Well these 12ft monstrosities (about 2.5" in real life) are my take on what if Tyranids from Warhammer 40k were xenomorph ants

I decided I wanted a Gabriel Seth so I made one! He's mainly an Assault Intercessor with a Heresy Heavy Chain sword and some Blood Angel Captain bits and a Death Co head. Might run him occasionally as a Death Company Captain too
