My heat pump equipment is 2 years old now. I'm in Ottawa, Canada, and have had no issues for either heating or cooling. My utility bills are lower now than when I was using natural gas equipment (by about $1K/year). The federal gov't provided a rebate and loan, making it even more attractive.

I'm happy to see my post inspired this conversation. We've been lied to for several decades by the oil and gas industry so I don't blame voters. But one thing we can all do is talk about it and not accept the lie that we need more fossil fuels, when renewables are cheaper and will provide jobs.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but we had one of those where I live and someone went in at night and cleaned out all the produce. As sad as it is, these community food gardens need to be safe guarded with cameras.

When a poll is run & we're asked to prioritize different issues, and climate change and the economy are both listed, it sends the message that we can only fix only one of those issues, not both.

IMO, that's one of the reasons climate change is never prioritized. Immediacy will always be a priority

Squint a little, and all of that investment in AI starts to look like subsidies to keep an unsustainable service afloat--so they're starting to charge for it. Will they get enough ongoing revenue to pay for all of the server farms burning down the planet, as more and more talk about "AI Slop"?

I don't know about you, but the reason I want the Epstein files released is because Trump really doesn't want them to be and because the victims deserve as much. Nothing to do with a conspiracy about blackmail. Otherwise, I do agree we have a huge issue of trust with MSM.
