This game actually plays better on my raspberry pi 4 CRT TV with 8bitdo Neo Geo CD pad than any previous setup I've played it on!

Then consider the fact that because of the regime there's a $100 price increase across the board for the base cab it seems since these ship from China..

Chances are I may still have to modify it because of my standards but it'll be less or the same than the above and it wont be as narrow which is especially good for multiplayer 2+ player games.. Makes a lot of sense I think..

So, it makes more sense for me to hold out and get XL/XXL/full size that' about $700-$1000 so that I can save having to do all that investment above..

That all adds up..
On average I end up paying over $1,000 to fully mod a deluxe form factor cabinet and I end up with a cabinet that's narrower than getting an XL/XXL.. Deluxe size is about 19" wide and XL/XXL is about 23"-24" wide..

Here's the reason why I am choosing not to invest in any more deluxe form factor home arcade cabs from here on out.. This is approximately how much I typically spend on them before the $100 price increase.

Doctor Who Dalek Attack by Admiral Software probably can't be considered a good game but I like to run it and vibe with it every now and then because it's a curiousity and the only 16-bit Doctor Who action platformer that I know of!

I've always wondered where they get these but right now especially after the customization I'm guessing they all just make their own..

This is something I gotta do some time and do some nice vinyl wraps on them as the finishing touch!

Something I've always been curious about are the side tables that they use as spacers between the cabinets here.. (example pic from Push Start Play Arcade in TX).. Especially after seeing a video tour of this place recently where each of the side tables have been decorated to be unique..

BTW, I always thought no matter which version this might be "Pixels" is a misnomer because the invaders are clearly made from voxels.. that's volume pixels.. cubes.. 3D!!

TBH my preferences have shifted lately and I no longer liked the bubble tops I had on these so I replaced them with Qanba textured matte ball tops.. 🕹️💜

I've never heard of the arcade Beat-em-up "Silent Dragon" before but I think the graphics are very neat in a 90's neon action figure sort of way!

OTOH the player attacks aren't so great and it seems like they don't really have super moves but it's still fun..
