This is no poem…
Anne, if you feel this is inappropriate, I’ll take it down & understand. Maybe I should’ve kept all this to myself. But every day this month-as we get closer to the end & that “holiday”-that grows more difficult. Yet somehow this catharsis was screaming to be heard.

So😢to hear that #TheMoodyBlues bassist & singer #JohnLodge has passed away: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
So much beautiful #music he made w/The Moodys & w/Justin Hayward as “Blue Jays.” #progrock #symphonicprog #psychedelic 4fav💿I’d recommend starting with: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Days_of...
Front cover of The Moody Blues groundbreaking symphonic prog rock album “Days of Future Passed,” which includes the most well known track, “Nights in White Satin.” Just the beginning of a long musical journey for this most extraordinary and unique group. This is essential to any music collection, for it’s where The Moody Blues changed from a pop group to something altogether new… The cover is hard to describe, to be honest, full of bright primary colours in a psychedelic design. Up in the top lefthand corner is the whimsical, mostly blue image of a knight on a horse, jousting…Sideways, one can just about make out the large outline of a man’s face - which most resembles Justin Hayward at the time. There’s another knight in the lower right hand corner, as well as a painted sequence of Moon phases and many other designs. Front cover of On The Threshold of a Dream, a beautiful album that starts out with an unusual, spoken “existential” intro, which is “answered” by a seeming computer voice and replied to by the man. This opening is so hard to explain: you just have to listen to it ☺️. This album references Arthurian legend as well as everyday life…and love. So beautiful, it showcases several band members individual songwriting and vocal skills. It’s dreamlike and gorgeous. The cover here is mostly a deep blue, with what resembles a multi-branched tree in the centre. The tree has russet leaves, on two of which are actually images of an ear and an eye. There’s an unusual, almost millipede like figure snaking across underneath it. The group’s name and album title are in red lettering across the top. So many gorgeous songs here: my favourites are “Lovely To See You,” “Never Comes the Day,” “Are You Sitting Comfortably.” All songs are woven into one fantastic and varied trip of the imagination… The front cover of John Lodge and Justin Hayward’s album “Blue Jays.” A separate venture from their work with the Moody Blues, it’s beautiful and full of thoughtful and poignant songs written & performed by just Lodge and Hayward. The cover has a distant, green mountain in the centre with what may be a castle on top. On the left side foreground is the ruin of a huge stone archway. Two male figures - Hayward and Lodge - stand beneath the archway, looking towards the distant mountain. A golden sunrise (or perhaps sunset) fill the background with light that seems to reflect upon a golden sea that reaches the far shore of the mountain/castle. Yet another possible remnant of a castle tower is on the distant horizon on the right. In the right foreground is a tree and a wooden structure of two posts with a third spanning across them. This departure from the Moodys is full of beautiful songs - in a similar vein to their work with the band, but showcasing their uniquely individual songwriting and vocal skills apart from the rest of the Moodys. Another essential album to have… The front cover of “Seventh Sojourn,” an album full of incredibly moving and beautiful songs. It’s hard for me to talk about this one, for I have my own memories associated with listening to it in my then boyfriend’s (later 1st husband’s) dorm room at college. I cannot listen to “New Horizons” and “Isn’t Life Strange” without crying. For me it’s full of poignant memories…and wishes I could turn back the clock to that evening…Those songs proved such portents of our future. Again, this is a beautiful album…as so much of The Moody Blues music was…
The cover is mostly in shades of brownish grey, with layers of rocks reaching far beyond from the foreground. There is a vague, pale blue sea (or distant mountains?) beyond this rocky shore…The group’s name and album title are up near the top, slanted lettering in taupe…

I‘d not used that word in the original draft, but tweaked this to include it. I can’t know how this may be received nor read. But I felt it in keeping w/October’s seemingly dark themes©~M💞 #prose-poem

Longing - a #poem by Sara Teasdale

Yes, again I’m posting yet another verse by Sara Teasdale. That slim volume of #Love poetry of hers that I bought as a teen holds many poems that still speak to my❤️‍🩹. Though some-like this one-I only appreciate now that I’m much older…-tam💞

This is so gorgeous - I know it’s a photograph and yet it has the look of a perfect painting of Autumn. Beautiful colours and composition with that soft sunset illuminating and enhancing those rich colours.🍂👏

Absolutely stunning. What a striking self-portrait. I can’t add much to what you’ve already said in your ALT, re the tone & mood of this. Just so powerful & beautiful.♥️

This is so cool: that blue-green light from the Lighthouse, reflecting across the water. It could almost be mistaken for a low rising/setting Moon because of the perfect circle of light. It’s the colour-& your info of course-that gives it away. But it has that unusual-tho beautiful-look of a Moon.

#Trees & #shrubs with blue sky!
Here’s our 10ft+tall, evergreen, variegated shrub on the left; a Hazel fr/a forgetful🐿. And dominating the right-side are tops of taller trees in the alley starting to look #Autumnal Lovely view looking up fr/our #garden #photography by my partner💞 #garden4wildlife
The whole left side of this photo is dominated by what started out as a small-maybe 3foot high-variegated shrub planted in front of one end of our shed. It’s now well beyond 10 ft tall, beyond our reach to trim. But that height also gives us a bit of privacy from the houses that overlook our back garden. This shrub has proved invaluable to birds: it’s thin branches support the weight of small birds, but not that of any predator! So we placed a bird box high on the shed, hidden behind this now massive shrub/tree. That box has seen more than a few birds breed and fledge over the years. Even year round, small birds flock in and out of it, for it provides them with quick & secure cover as they flit about different parts of the garden: to a Winter Flowering Honeysuckle tree; our small Japanese Maple (acer); the bird table; bird bath & our own small, dense hedgerow (all not seen here). Back to this photo: in the foreground on the right are the large green leaves of an accidental Hazel tree: some squirrel must’ve left behind a hazelnut from a nearby tree and now we have this tree growing…Unfortunately, we can’t afford to let it continue, as we risk it becoming so big its roots could undermine our house. Even now, it’s cramped shrubs we’d normally have seen flowering beyond it in Spring, such as our Bridal Wreath-which was sadly suppressed by the fast-spreading Hazel, as well as the difficult weather patterns & drought of Summer. All those tall trees touching the bright blue sky with their increasingly Autumn-colourful tops of golds and reds are part of a long line of trees that have grown a lot since we moved here. They make a great-and much needed-habitat for birds and squirrels, all along the length of this part of our neighbourhood. Given how many trees have been chopped down by the council or savaged cruelly by neighbours protecting their cars from sap/bird poo, it’s a miracle we still have any left. Many of them flower in early Spring. 📸by my partner.-tam💞

Eddie, I’d never seen a Dartford Warbler before you started posting photos of them, but I’ve got to say…whilst the males’ slate-blue feathers are a beautiful colour, the birds’ “expressions” always make me😂.Between that & their punk-style, spiky top feathers they always look so darned grumpy!🤭
