I had the best evening at The Diverse Book Awards. So much talent and inspiration in one room. Another pile of books to add to the ever growing tbr pile.

Wasn’t it the best night? I want to read every single book they spoke about!

Lifelong readers aren’t born, they’re made.

Such is the case with this little one, who finds the most exciting discovery at the grocery store: books.

I think this homemade bookmark from one of my daughters is my favourite gifts ever. ‘The point of life is good books.’ I Coffin, age 8. 😂

‘Dig, Dig, Dinosaur’ book was a big hit at our early years class today. Thank you @evoswami.bsky.social for signing the books and writing each family a message. The families loved the special touch.

I knew Birdie by @jprosewriter.bsky.social was going to be great due to the number of recommendations I have had for it but no one warned me that it would make me fight back the tears and not to read it in public. One of the most beautifully written books I have read this year.

My favourite children’s bookshop! Martina is so good with recommendations too.

I have all three books separately but I really really want this too. One for my Xmas list I think.

Yes we have the sequel and I love that too. I have just got a copy of Birdie as our next read. Have you read Kimberley’s ‘Fighting Words’? More of a YA book but it is unbelievable how she can tackle such tricky issues in such a sensitive way.

My latest read is perfect for children in Key Stage 2 learning about Tudor history. A fun adventure story with lots of historical facts celebrating Black history.

Loved reading this with my oldest and loving reading it again with my youngest two. Such an amazing writer but not so well known in the UK.

Looking for the perfect holiday gift for your baby? How about a “face book?”

I’ve written often about how much infants love the faces of their loved ones. Indeed, we’re biologically driven from birth to distinguish - and study - the faces that matter most.

This is next on the pile to read to my 8 year old twins. I’ve heard great things about it.
