I like to take road trips to see the amazing natural beauty of this world we call home. I am not a professional photographer - just a shmo with a phone - but I will share my journeys with anyone who wishes to join. Every photo here was taken by me.

I don't do a lot of road-tripping in the winter (I hate the cold) so roadtrip photos will be few and far between for a while. In the meantime, here's the snow on my car this morning. #roadtrip #winter #snow #ihatecoldweather
Route 93 just south of Wendover, NV. Nothing special, just an amazing sky and view on its own. #roadtrip #nevada #travel #photography #nature
Another view of the Grand Canyon, taken from the vicinity of Mather Point. The patchwork clouds made a nice shadow pattern. #grandcanyon #roadtrip #travel #nature #nationalpark #photography
When a (nearly) unstoppable force meets an immovable object - Meteor Crater, Arizona! Another main reason for this road trip! #roadtrip #nature #meteor #crater #travel
Stopped in Petrified Forest National Park, AZ, and found this neat monument to old Route 66 that used to pass through here. This is (what's left of) a 1932 Studebaker! #nationalpark #travel #roadtrip #route66 #classiccars
I've never seen a definition for monadnock that includes climate description - only that it's a hill or mountainous formation that rises above the surrounding flat plains. I believe this still fits the definition while also being a volcanic throat.
One of the main reasons for my road trip last May: Ship Rock, New Mexico! Not exactly a mountain nor a volcano, it's a monadnock. This rock wall in the foreground is one of its spokes and it stretches over 5.7 miles (9.1 km) from the central plume. #roadtrip #travel #nature #photography #newmexico
I did! I have a few posts from DHP as well, with a few more I'll be sharing soon.
More from my visit to Canyonlands National Park in southern Utah. This place is just breathtaking! #nationalpark #nature #travel #roadtrip #utah #southernutah #photography
I found the nexus of the universe - the corner of Walk and Don't Walk! Stockton, Utah #roadtrip #utah #streetsigns #rural #travel
A Utah Juniper at Dead Horse Point State Park, southern Utah. Life growing from among the sandstone desert. #nature #outdoors #travel #deadhorsepoint #statepark #utah #photography #roadtrip
Canyonlands National Park, Shafer Canyon, southern Utah #nationalpark #travel #utah #southernutah #nature
Awesome! I plan on returning next spring and visiting the southern part of the park, the "Needles," next time.
Fisher Towers, including "The Titan," Castle Valley, Utah along scenic Rt 128. La Sal mountains in the distance. #travel #nature #utah #southernutah #scenic
Arches National Park, "Park Avenue" from the south end. #nationalpark #utah #southernutah #travel #nature #arches
Goblin Valley State Park, Utah. Didn't spot any beryllium spheres this time around. #travel #nature #utah #southernutah #statepark #galaxyquest
Sorry - that's east of Capitol Reef, not west.
