Yep. Even well-off kids have disabilities. And those parents have advocated for these laws. Repub SCOTUS is letting him cut programs, Congress has mandated. Now, state accountability is gone. Meaning kids without wealthy parents are particularly vulnerable.

Sotomayor writes children's books. Should we stop that? The federal judicial ethics code. Seems to work well for the other fed judges. They have a right to write books but not be corrupted by it. They can't take big gifts under that. That's what Sheldon Whitehouse and others suggest.

I think VA was his consolation prize for supporting her for so long. Schummer is often quiet about who he supports too. Two elections ago. He picked bad people. Last time was better. He needs to go, though. He doesn't get authoritarians.

Luckily, he's also insecure and not likable. He's running for a cabinet position. His politics are also not what anyone's looking for. I'm not worried about him. It's Shapiro that concerns me. If ever there was a party favorite centrist, he's it. He came down hard on Gaza protesters, which was bad.

Oh god, he was awful, but I think Schummer had a lot to do with that. I may be wrong if you live there. Schummer encouraged a lot of mediocre centrists at that time. Terry was more of a Clinton guy. Obama got the guy before that in. But he had a heart, at least. Terry was always a lousy manager.

We've already done this in Colorado. Cities will not get state housing funds if they don't change zoning.
In Portland, denser housing zones are helping more people afford homes. CA should have been a leader on this.

Yes, that's the US. But all other democracies provide those. Where many Communist countries don't. You have to pay money to get good care. With the exception of Cuba. Tell me. Why did Ho Chi Min want a constitutional democracy? Because almost everyone does. It's messy, imperfect but still the best.

History shows Communism is incompatible with Democracy. Unfortunate, because the original ideals were commendable. Name one former or current communist country that became a democracy. And no free press. You can't have democracy without a free press.

Russia, China and others love capitalism. It's not capitalism that's bad. It's corrupt, unfettered and monopolistic capitalism that's bad. No one runs a centralized socialized country without becoming completely corrupt. Without press freedom and democracy any system will fail its people.

Difference. They got there on the backs of starving people in Russia. The US would have won anyways it would have taken longer. We left people with Democracies. Except Spain. They completely took over countries for their own gain.
