*succinctly articulating how it affects me when it receives such violence

See what I mean? ๐Ÿ˜…
Besides being frustrating, it's a significant & distinct way English-language cultural imperialism manifests in digital spaces. Germany is usually on the perpetrating end of imperialist violence, which means succinctly articulating the ways it receives such violence is often beyond my abilities ๐Ÿ™
I wish I had succinct words to describe my feelings abt the rise of auto-translated digital interfaces. Nations (like Germany) with established bastardized-English interface terminology are confronted with unintuitive nonsense & barred from accessing the EN original in the name of personalised UX
One of the movies I saw 5 or more times in the theatre when it came out. Romcom wasn't even a fave genre but that movie was just a good movie.

I think it was also one of the first movies I went to see in original English rather than the German dub. Anyway, yay for rewatching good movies!
He's quite pleased that his excellence and beauty are receiving appropriate attention ๐Ÿ˜‚
I keep telling ppl at work that we should be hiring folks with a library sciences bg bc that's the skills you need to a) design semantic database models in a useful way & b) make sure everyone puts their data in there in a way that doesn't mess it up. Having AI means we need librarians even more.
Pumpkin is clearly the best cat ๐Ÿ’š and very lucky to have found a welcoming home with two other best cats!
Ooh, Tito has beautiful eyes! ๐Ÿฅฐ
I wanted to share my cat so here's my cat. He's a good boy.
Swedish sounds so much like German anyway (to me, sure it's the other way around for Swedes). Swedish & Dutch are beguilingly similar to German; I always feel like I should be able to pick them up without even trying until I listen more closely and realise I can't actually understand any of it ๐Ÿ˜‚
Isn't French also some sort of al-word? L'allemagne, if I remember my school French right. Not sure where "Germany" and honestly "Deutschland" came from; most of everyone else seems to agree on the Al-thing ๐Ÿ˜…
True! Also a good one, though with less amazing pun potential when it comes to finding a word for the lecturing thing ๐Ÿฅ”
Ad for mobile provider at the platform for infamously late DB trains. It shows a guy speaking into a phone while sitting on his suitcase, likely having had his travel plans derailed. The slogan says "always being able to let folks know you'll be late".

Gotta respect ad game when I see it ๐Ÿ˜‚
For language fans: the Turkish word 'Alman' (='German') has become German slang for 'typically German' (not favourable). TIL that 'Almansplaining' refers to white Germans going around lecturing non-white people on how things are done in Germany. Excellent language development, no notes ๐Ÿ˜‚
Whenever some online tech mag starts an article with "Has your mouse pointer disappeared? Fret not, here's five ways to fix it!" and then begins the next sentence with the word "Click", they should be visited by MS Clippy's angry older brother Choppy ๐Ÿ˜ก
sounds like that was a beyond infinity serious deadline ๐Ÿ˜‚
๐Ÿ˜‚ He got his breakfast not long after, did however first have to defend his garden against a takeover attempt by one of the neighbour cats. He's a hard-working man!
Neither can I, but I have it on the authority of my shouty 20-year-old cat who's impatiently trying to make me get up and feed him breakfast that it translates to "where's my snack, human, do I have to do everything around here?!"

No reason to doubt him on that, obviously ๐Ÿ‘
๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Amazing, no notes

Do you have a link to the full thing? I wanna laugh; I also find those studies quite helpful to have read for work. Unfortunately my company tends to share LinkedIn stuff over real studies ๐Ÿ˜ญ
The vending machine business is a cut-throat industry; even the most agentic AI may find itself suffering a small beyond infinity damages breakdown now and again ๐Ÿ™
