Oh there have deffo been worse books for sure. I don't think it's Graham's best work but tbh it was the first book for what is essentially a new setting it would be expected to see teething problems

Also my other issue is Necromancy being so common with Tomb Kings who have historically shunned that form of magic thanks to the pretty much PTSD that Nagash wrought.
Then again it's in the Empire freely too for some reason but that's tabletop issues lol

The bow thing bothered me but ultimately I didn't see as much of an issue with it as I did with the weird locations that kept changing so often. The world is huge, why does everyone seem to teleport across the Badlands lol

Necromancy being more prevalent wasn't really Graham's fault either considering everyone and their mother can now use necromancy on the tabletop... which is bizzare but hey not like there was a huge war recently against Vampires and necromancers right... right??

I find the discourse about this book pretty curious. People don't like it because of the female knights and the gay Knight (despite him being one of the better written characters).
My issue with the book is it felt like a DND campaign more than anything else.
Also the weird Settra "awakening?" stuff
