Wizards are already among the most powerful of D&D's spellcasting classes thanks to the sheer versatility of Wizard magic, so their subclasses don't quite as heavily influence their power compared to other classes. That made them somewhat difficult to rank. They weren't the most heavily revised of these lists (that honor remains with the Rogue), but it was a difficult one nevertheless.

Warlocks are immensely fun to write backstories for and to roleplay because you have a built it dynamic with an NPC as part of the package. I know a lot of people hate how few spell slots they get, but to me half the fun is deciding when to drop the most impactful spell you can with them and rely on your cantrips and other features afterwards.

Sorcerers are near and dear to my heart. They were the first class in D&D I ever played. I was always greatly attracted to the idea that their magic was fully theirs, part of them, and it couldn't be taken away by outside powers or denied to them because they lost a book. The fact that I started playing in the days of "Preparation casters must prepare a specific in a slot" meant Sorcerers were the kings of moment-to-moment flexibility, which I not only found appealing, but for a good long while considered essential to casting, certainly didn't hurt either.
