Most important? Absolutely 1969 takes the cake IMO. A few others come close to “greatest” if we just go off quality of releases (67, 71-73, 83, etc) but 69 seems to me to be the event from which everything else has spread

I often wonder how mind blowing and confusing it must’ve been to be hit with the overwhelming pre-metal onslaught of “21st Century Schizoid Man” and just barely survive just for them to then immediately give you the flutes of “I Talk to the Wind” 😂
