Nah.

The point isn’t that winning is bad, it’s that it’s irrelevant. Even if they win, all the things that make the Mariners (and sports in general) so weird and fascinating are still there.

The Mariners take relentless at-bats. They're the best kinds of pests. Jorge Polanco, the walk-off hero of Game 5 of the ALDS, just knocked in his second run of the night. It's the eighth, Seattle leads 3-1 and the Mariners continue to threaten in Game 1 of the ALCS.
