I’ve never seen fungi there before now, amazing (and a shock) to see it. Have found a few more clusters in the orchard today so will see how that also progresses. Up at Black Hill, the amount of Fly Agaric is stunning. Some areas are a sea of red with groups of 15-20 clustered close together.

It’s turning out to be an amazing year for Fungi, I discovered this massive load on one of the back paths in The Garden Jungle this morning, it’s Honey Fungus. Apparently it is edible, but I’m not that brave yet. #thegardenjungle #fungi #honeyfungi

I always love their mobbing behaviour, turn up on mass, feed like frenzy and then disappear together.

During the summer months, after their breeding season they do appear to disappear. This is because they go through their moult and tend to go and hide away in Woodland and dense areas for protection. I suspect they feel more vulnerable at this time. 👍

As Autumn gets well and truly underway, food for the birds gets switched to more fatty foods like peanuts and fatballs in The Garden Jungle. The Long Tailed Tits are now making frequent visits with their flock raids, quick feed and they’re off again #birds #thegardenjungle #wildlife #birdwatching
