Manifestations from the Carnival or even creatures the Carnival was based on. But now they just look like dudes in mascot heads, which isn't bad and still looks good, but I prefer the idea of the natural bird heads more and found that scarier because of how unexplainable it was.
Very "what the fuck is THAT!?" before, not knowing how they came to be, just weird bird guys. And I like the idea of the Carnival that is themed around them, but the Gul Bros still being these weird bird people that you don't know came before or after the Carnival.
Eeeeeh I dunno. Happy to hear that they are going to be a boss that you can fight outside of Maso mode because I've been wanting to fight them but don't like Maso. But I like the older designs more, something about them being, or at least looking like real bird heads was creepier.

I'm just saying but my Nana isn't the most media literate person in the world and isn't quick to pick up on themes or anything like that, and even she was able to pick up what this game was putting down which shows how good it is in my book.
How quickly people turn on eachother over the smallest things, how some people WANT to turn on others and make excuses. The fucking AWFUL way the government deals with anything but especially things they don't understand, how they cover things up after making them worse.
She also talked about how depressingly realistic a lot of the stuff in the game is, how similar it is to a lot of the awful stuff that is happening in the world right now, how realistic it is in how it depicts the shitty things that some people do.
And yeah it's supposed to be, especially the decisions your making where the lives of other people are put in your hands, taking in people and turning them away, figuring out who is a Visitor.
I showed Nana No I'm Not a Human and let her make the decisions, it was very fun. As someone who has played it plenty of times and know what I'm doing, it's more interesting watching someone who doesn't know how to make the decisions and one of the first things she said was how stressful the game is
