Governance is set up in the US to be cooperative… “Congress” means a 2-year meeting, so when the parties fail to have common ground the levers of the Constitution don’t work! Our government is supposed to reflect the people in its structure and functions.

To increase stability, our Constitution dictates the dates and times for each federal election if someone resigns or dies in an office without a succession plan. The line of succession for President goes through 18 total people. Unfortunately these relatively new (1980s) budget games create chaos.

Monolithic “originalism” didn’t exist until the reemergence of the Christian Right. Truth re: existence of a Resistance early in our nation’s history is why squelching/whitewashing Smithsonian researchers, their publications and resulting exhibitions is high on the Heritage Foundation’s to do list.

“Black female poor people” enslaved by “Founding Fathers” & others had a voice through Quakers and other Abolitionists demanding an immediate end to the Slave Trade—one of the many thorny issues that delayed the Framing of the Constitution and its ratification. It was delayed it 20 years to 1808.

Confirmed- I am not being sarcastic. I’m Christian (Quaker) and have lifelong Jewish friends. I didn’t know “Pharisee”was a slur, truly. I knew it as an ironic reference (attached). While today’s conservative Christians could use some theological training, apparently so do I! Many apologies.

I have an antique cross I inherited from my mother. I’ve worn it for Sunday Service, weddings, & funerals. I would NEVER wear it to work because we live in a nation where freedom of religion is a founding principle. I simply don’t want to imply that my religious faith has any place in our work life.

Prior to greed (envy of others & accumulation of money & things others have) there were “strongmen” leading tribes. Male supremacy is the model for ALL supremacy, including religion and White Supremacy. I salute men, including my father, brothers & sons, who were/ are not supremacists of any flavor.
