The battle lasted hours, but eventually, Zephyrax was defeated first and Hector barely won. One more attack and he surely would have lost. Ryu respected Hector's strength and kneeled to Oscar, admitting defeat and decided to dub himself as Oscar's Guardian.

He challenged both Zephyrax and Hector to battle.
And if they defeated him, he'll admit defeat and join as their Guardian. And Ryu was huge. His size almost matched Oscar's height. Being three inches shorter, Ryu's attacks were relentless and to the point.
