Roofman (2025):
I'd easily call this the best movie of the year if heavy hitters like WB's one-two-three mega punch didn't share the spotlight, but I will say it's ONE of the best.

Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst's performances and the humor were easily the best parts of this movie for me.

The Smashing Machine (2025):
The first solo directorial work from Benny Safdie after splitting from his brother nearly two years ago, I thought this was enjoyable, but nothing super special.

Dwayne Johnson's performance here might be the best one of his career. Fuck distributor A24 though.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006):
For a movie that’s basically as old as me as well as serving as Mamoru Hosoda’s first serious directing role, I’d say this was a very interesting movie, yet also very good.

Dare I say this might be slightly underrated? Worth checking this one out.

One Battle After Another (2025):
I know I said "28 Years Later" was one of my candidates for the best film of this year, but I think this movie easily solos it.

For a nearly 3 hour long movie, this didn't feel too long at all. I have a feeling this is gonna be a huge awards contender.

I’m still baffled the Switch 2 is gonna have FOUR Yakuza games within the first year of its existence (including a new remake). I’ve never played these games before and I still have yet to boot up Yakuza 0, but this is just one example of how crazy third party support for this thing is right now.
