One specific line near the end of volume 2 sold me on the series: "I love the moment when a person becomes a fool. That moment when a rational person sells their soul to art."

Idk something about that line resonates. Creating art requires vulnerability. And it's a little foolish. But it's necessary

Girl Crush.
Bought the first two volumes on a whim at a bookstore, and I actually really vibe with it. It's shaping up to be a nice story about art and passion and self discovery (through the medium of becoming a K-Pop idol). There's more than the two volumes I've read, but idk when I'll get to them

it is! and with the rules of the event requiring short entries, it's a low commitment level, which takes a lot of the stress away. like, if i try something, and it doesn't quite land, oh well, tomorrow is a different day

Promptober definitely takes a lot out of me, but it's also such a perfect opportunity to experiment with new things. new characters, new ships, new styles, etc. so far, 8/11 entries have had some sort of new aspect

I've thought about this before, too. It's such an odd scenario! It's one thing if Maki went to Tsukinomori, but she's at Haneoka! So Sakiko somehow knows her well enough through the local concert band scene, which is just wild to me. Maybe there *is* some hidden history between them...

And I think Sakiko never actually held any animosity towards Taki at all. But after everything that happened, I don't think she feels particularly positive towards her, either. Again, it's ambivalence. Which puts the shipping potential in a weird spot, but I still *believe* there's something there

It's such a weird case with them! Bc like, Sakiko is one of the physical manifestations of Taki's feelings of inadequacy, but I also don't think Taki hates her for that. I think she used to hate Sakiko for what she did to Tomori, but now that that's kind of in the past, I think she's just ambivalent
