The Devil was always a symbol of hope for the hopeless. A threat to the 'Righteous'. She began thinking about painting him. The Beast became all consuming.

Matt already had his keys in his pocket as he slowly followed her to his door. He heard the sounds as well. Each day, he'd wake up and just listen to the city. Even through all the suffering that happened here — Hell's Kitchen was his home. He'd never abandon her.

Fei slipped into the doorway and into the service hall that led down towards the apartments. Like the rest of Hell's Kitchen, it looked both lived in, like someone's home, and run down. The freshest paint was chipped, and the oldest paint covered holed in the drywall covered in patching.
