Well, on number 6, the limit only refers to the need to enter one's PIN. It may save two seconds or so per customer. Assuming one customer every two minutes, over ten hours opening, this "saves" ten minutes total over the whole day.

It's very much "He conquered Space... by the sheer force of his will!" and loads of political theorising. It's not the worst SF out there, but it's dated very badly.
