Breathing deeply, the acrid scent of burning metal caught in my nose, and a not so distant rumble rocked the floor beneath me.
And then…
Literally beside myself, I looked upon my body ripping itself free from the grasp of the truly beastly Despair. Torn flesh all down my legs oozed blood and…
“GRAAHH!!” Adrenaline did what he set out to do and left me with the result. Gritting my teeth against the fiery pangs running through me with each step, I hobbled down the corridor.
“I suppose this is what they call mental anguish,” Chaos said.
“That was bad,” I huffed, “and you should feel bad,” I puffed.
“You seem to be feeling bad enough for the both of us,” Chaos retorted.
Damn him–me and my wit!
The floor rocked below me again. What infernal place was this? The clean brushed metal finish of the walls gave nothing away. An intersection in the corridor had what looked like a map, but in no language that I understood. Nevertheless it appeared to be a deck plan for a ship of some kind.
