I forget the book written by the professor (Heel or Pack), but outer banks are constantly migrating due to littoral currents Gulf Steam or closer Newfoundland. In 100 years this will be academic. Mother Nature scoffs at your groins and sandbags.

Only sorry for original old timers whose fishing shacks built there (now extinct). The rich folk discovered paradise & bought them out. Now they want beach nourishment & cheap insurance (on our dime), local chambers of commerce, realtor protection rackets cry and gnash their teeth that it’s over. 🤷‍♂️
