Dug up some old childhood drawings this weekend. When I was 10 years old I wanted to make a mascot platformer where all the characters are the personification of all the holidays, like a #Halloween mage with cargo shorts.

I have trouble with the “not for me” mentality. Studying art and criticism you kinda drill bias out of yourself to a degree. Or at least even if you don’t like it, there are still a thousand things to critique about it good or bad. Also there’s nothing like learning to appreciate something new.

Recently did this with my 3 split units. AC company wanted to charge $2400. Took 2 days. Best YT tutorial I could find was by a sus conservative dude. Did end up buying a snake cam tho to fix something I broke inside of one which was cool because now I can see inside of all kinds of stuff.

It’s the fact that if you even touch a boss by accident you lose 1-2 health. It’s a real problem for me that I can’t dodge or land through them.

Totally. I do think the contact damage in this design is likely something that I won’t be able to overcome though. I really want some kind of boon or difficulty option for that.

I had a great first 3 hours anyhow I’m crashing out lol. I really wish they would add a couple settings for things like contact damage or a god mode/boom of some kind.

I think there is a pretty major lack of this kind of writing, compared to like filmmaking. I’d love more books about the making of all kinds of games, the history of studios, and the creative of indie developers.
