2/ I get that some people might prefer to rawdog it, turning their lights on manually at sundown, but that choice comes with responsibilities. If the weight of that mandate is beyond you, auto headlights are here to save you.

I'll go one better: pretty much every car sold in the last 2 decades has auto headlights - you put the switch in the "auto" position and never think about it again. And yet every single time I drive after dark I see multiple people without their lights on.

In the first Indiana Jones movie they were the bad guys, but there have been lots of other movies made since then (and lots of them aren't even Indiana-Jones-related) and they each have their own take, so it gets pretty complicated.

I just assumed it was because tickets are so absurdly expensive, so leaving early (no matter the score) works out to like $5/min.

Also, Toronto has a *marginally* functional transit system - good where (and when) it works, but overall several decades behind the demand curve.

About 10 years ago, I put up an OTA antenna and cancelled our cable service. Yes our channel count went from several hundred down to several dozen (and only a fraction of those are useful) but by my math we've saved around $4000 so far.
