hi I am unfortunately in a bad financial spot once again on account of half my rent being up in the air and my car leaking oil at an exponentially faster rate

hoping to at least raise enough to dump more oil in this thing or things are gonna get rly hairy for me

any shares would be appreciated 🩷

My UI benefits will be expended in a couple weeks, and once they're gone I'll be short at least $200 in rent by the end of October.

It's about $80 to dump more oil in this car but at least $400 to fix the leak. Right now my priority is the short term fix as I should hopefully have a steady gig lined up soon and be able to handle the repair myself.

So right now my fundraising goal is $300, which will make all the difference in getting me by while I continue my job hunt.

Any reposts or shares would be much appreciated 🩷 I'm pretty worried about this car tbh lol

yeah, i have no clue what my boots are but the soles are vibrams. got them off ebay last summer for half the cost of a pair of new boots and they're great. i had to have the pull loops repaired but 🤷‍♀️ i like them better than any of the docs ive owner

they think they're helping by telling me what cis people want to read from trans people when what they're really asking is for me to write about trans people like a cis person. we can't all be sharon olds! 🙄

that is to say, i think we should make art "about" being trans but we shouldn't be so marginalized that our voices are ignored when we write about love or revolution

writing for trans publications often feels the same way too. as a trans writer you pretty much have to write about being trans. not every poem can be about my tranny penis or my tranny feelings but at least a trans audience won't treat it as a freakshow to gawk at when i do

making trans art for an assumed general (read: cis) audience is a miserable process. cis people simultaneously /only/ want you to write about being trans while also shunting your work off to "trans issues" of publications or else saying their publications aren't the places for your work
