1) tingling, itching, and difficulty swallowing are warning signs, you don’t always jump to closed airway
2) involvement of more than one system is a red flag

I think it depends on the kid, but my oldest responds best to “I’m doing this so can you please do that” approach and only asking for things he cares about. His room is messy? I close the door, he leaves a mess in shared land he’s asked to clean it up
