just confirmed that \copy is just as slow... rip

and i tried that with python yesterday and it did a whopping 20rows/s so it would finish the one table in a little under a year 😭😭😭 i genuinely don't know why it's so slow maybe i just see if i can dump the table on the server first

i think psql \copy also just invokes copy to stdout underneath so i didn't try it... but i will try it now just to be sure

shot in the dark but does anyone know what the most efficient way to copy one table from a remote #postgres db to a new local db is? this thing is like 560M rows and about 1TB, i don't think i physically have the space to pg_dump the entire db and copy to stdout is chugging along at like 1 MB/s...

also at the same con the VA for my fav character in my fav gacha game (Reverse1999 btw it's a good game play R1999) showed up at OUR table cause she heard about us tabling with fanart?? and took home our prints?? my life peaked at this con it's all downhill from there and i'm satisfied with that
