There were 2 local by-elections in Somerset yesterday.

Dunster: (former Tory stronghold)

LD 1142
Reform 666
Conservatives 449
Labour 44

Glastonbury: (previously. LD)

LD 882
Reform 523
Conservatives 506
Green 480
Labour 35

2 excellent Liberal Democrat councillors will be joining the team!
And yet there are people out there saying that they agree with plans to provide an insurance based healthcare system in the UK. Madness!
Inevitably, the directors would insist on outsourcing various parts of the IT.

In each case, downtime increased, despite the company paying more for the service.

The reality is that when you have well trained, motivated staff, they are better than those working for large conglomerates.
A couple of the key considerations; security, continuity / resilience, recovery planning.

We never quite reached the golden "5 9s", but on the budget the company's allowed, we managed to achieve 4 9s. (About 90 minutes downtime per year)

When things went wrong, we were on it immediately.
I've set-up & managed the IT for a number of SMEs.

Most of the work was done in-house. I trained the IT staff & allowed them to go on courses, plus gave them scope to practice.

In each case, dragging the company (sometimes kicking & screaming) into the 21st century.
Just finished reading the Kindle version of Baby's Breath. Really enjoyed it.

I'll be doing a review on Amazon at some point, but just getting over the holiday.
Yes, that was my point. Nature can recover if it is allowed. But when they choose to use such artificial methods as part of their farming practices, it really doesn't give the opportunity.
Gambling is a tax on poverty.

Gambling is like an addiction.

Gambling destroys lives.
In 2014, when the floods happened, a lot of wildlife perished. As the water receded, there were huge flocks of seabirds, foraging on the free buffet.

We didn't expect it to recover for years.

But just 6 months later, loads of invertebrate, small mammals & small birds.

Just give nature a chance.

Over 170,000 children living in temporary accommodation is a national disgrace. Children need safe, warm, stable homes to thrive - when will Labour grasp the nettle on this?

We need to unfreeze the local housing allowance and seriously invest in social housing, now.

Went back for permanent bridge; they've broken it!

Got to go back on Saturday.
Trying to cheer up SWMBO, because she got upset at the dentist.

Went into the jewellery, and we've chosen a ring. Waiting for it to be adjusted.

£608

😪😪😪😪😪
Only slight problem; the anaesthetic is slowly wearing off, but my nose is still numb. It feels like I have a brick up one nostril!
Unfortunately, I broke a tooth 10 years ago. The patch on it was good, but that came off.

I've just had the tooth removed, and prepped for a bridge.

One of best dental appointments I've ever had. Really good dentist, not much discomfort.

Back this afternoon for temp bridge.
Who could have predicted that? (Oh yes, loads of us!)

Good morning

Anyone or Party not prepared to reverse the harm caused by Brexit isn't fit to be in charge of a fecking poodle, let alone an economy.

Brexit, sold by morons, voted for by morons and maintained by morons 🙄
Could have stopped after the fifth word ...

Eight Reform UK councils have indicated that they will raise council tax next year after struggling to find huge cuts in public spending.

That’s despite Reform UK flyers during the Local Elections criticising councils for doing just that.

Never trust a Reformer.

Our nation's federal employees are more than just numbers on a spreadsheet.

They make sure we have clean water.

They protect us from financial fraud.

They provide healthcare to our communities.

They make our government actually work for people.

Do not forget this.
