I should probably introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Torin.
I spend more time liking and reposting than I do sharing my own stuff. I don't make a lot, but sometimes I doodle. I made my own pfp and banner.

I'm good at responding to messages, but I don't send the first message often.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's also incredibly funny to me that 4's failed ritual is only 10 years before the game's story because the setting looks and feels so rundown it's as if it had been multiple decades since then

The previous games all take place 100 years after their rituals failed
You'd think at some point that you'd run out of these very specific isolated Japanese communities, or that they would have heard about how that village in the mountains screwed up their ritual and got wiped off the map

They need a death ritual convention for trading warnings
Currently playing through Fatal Frame 4, and it hits you immediately that you have stumbled upon another isolated community doing a ritual involving the underworld that requires sacrificing young girls

It's hilarious that the premise is the same but the details are so different

Fork just gave me the most ominous error message I've ever seen in my life
We went from a 2nd arc that got progressively darker and more serious in tone to something so laid back it was almost unrecognizable as the same show
All-in-all very confusing, though it can still be fun at times
Very Toei-coded
Then we get a kind-of 10th year anniversary of the first anime climax where the protagonists from past stories all show up via time travel and alternate world hopping ala Toei's tokusatsu anniversary story-telling
It unfortunately doesn't feel earned during this arc
The last monster of the week story is happening with its "haha funny" shenanigans when suddenly MetallifeKuwagamon tells them about a hunter who's feeding Digimon data to some weird boulder-faced creature and that he's just a shell of a Digimon because his data is almost all gone
But talk about burying the lede
It's all just monster of the week stories that are fairly light-hearted and silly with a slightly dark undertone of spiriting away kids
But the kids always make it home and the problems always get solved
There's no overarching narrative being built
Like there were obviously small hints
- DigiQuartz looks like a post-apocalyptic version of the city and they shout time shift to go there
- The cameo characters show up midway through the arc with the clockmaker saying "it's not time yet"
Rewatched Xros Wars recently
The 3rd arc isn't as bad as I remember, but it's still really weird that they tacked on the 1st arc of a sequel season to the end of the show
Then they made a finale with stakes just as high or higher than the end of arc 2 with nearly no build up
I'll let you know when I figure that out.
