Something from 1996 that sounds as if created in a haze: tidal.com/browse/track... Whilst trying to locate a title for a tune, this absolute gem popped up from peak Ninja Tune era. Funki Porcini slowing time down a touch.

Only issue today was the actual track rather than the artist, we've plumped for this: tidal.com/browse/track... but everyone's got a favourite. You had the feeling there was more, much more, to come from D'Angelo, an artist gone far too soon. Go well.

On the centenary of Thatcher's birth, there have been predictable calls for a memorial to her memory. But Britain's 2300 food banks serve that purpose already.
Contemporary brilliance to lift the mood: tidal.com/browse/track... Award winning brilliance from Don Leisure, bringing a touch of Pino Palladino to proceedings here on a highlight from the Welsh album of the year. Glorious evocative stuff.

A brilliant tune to commemorate & commiserate the demise of the evil iron witch
Back to commemorate what would have been Thatcher's 100th birthday. We can all agree she put her stamp on the UK: crushing the working class, destroying communities, selling off our infrastructure and creating the economic climate for austerity years later. Only 1 choice: tidal.com/browse/track...

Back to 1985 this morning - FOR SONG CHOICE, WE'VE NOT ALL GONE FULL BOBBY EWING IN THE SHOWER - with some, ahem, electro goth by Love and Rockets (band not the comic): tidal.com/browse/track... Former Bauhaus lads, making a glorious racket here but imagine being the focus of those lyrics...Sheesh.

45th birthday for this absolute treasure
'Dirty Mind is a reminder that once upon a time, Prince saw music as a boundless, constraint-free orgy of creativity...'

Many Happy Returns to #Prince’s Dirty Mind, which turns 45 today!

Prince - Dirty Mind album cover. The artist wearing only a jacket, underpants and a bandana around his neck.
They are custodians of the biggest nothing burger of outrage in the known universe - the entire right wing ecosystem like its inbred cousin, the conspiracy theory, are little more than comfort blankets for idiots
This has come up in conversation today at TOTD Towers whilst talking about the currently outstanding Task. It was noted it was bound to be good as it's an HBO series and that got us wondering: are there HBO shows people wouldn't recommend?

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.
English being a rip off degree is an even worse take than hating sandwiches. How can you hate a sandwich?
Having seen so many laudatory "he's a maverick but everyone loves him and it seems to be working" articles in The Economist over the last year, we're all expecting the "we've run the numbers and it turns out he's a fucking disaster" one, any day now...right?
Something funky for the day wankers call Hump Day: tidal.com/browse/track... Brazilian legend Carlos Dafe, still going strong in 2025. Listen, like and share everyone x

How come Shrewsbury is the only place he's doing two nights? What research encouraged that?
Today's choice seems to have been covered a fair few times but we've a soft spot for the Bill Wyman produced, mildly obscure version from Moon's Train. Couldn't feel more of its time, no?: tidal.com/browse/track...
