Transplanting a thread I started over on the other site.

1/ Gender Reveals are one of the dumbest things to be spawned by social media. Now they’ve gone from being merely dumb, to being dumb, dangerous, destructive and deadly. This is the definitive list of Gender Reveals gone wrong.
With the notable exception of SAN-ATL, which will be seen as a massive victory in widgetville.
It’s Goodhart’s Law run completely amok.
You need that dual rca cable Jason. You know you always have to travel with one. Along with an eXport cable.
Unless the FAA’s website has glitched, it appears that a flesh and blood human being is the owner of that plane. I’d be very curious to know who that is.
I'm really not sure who the registered owner of that 747 is.

Re-upping this thread. 49 USC § 44114(b) only applies to airplanes owned by individuals, so how it can apply to the 747 that the Qataris gave the US government is quite a mystery. So I ask again: Who Is The Plane's Actual Owner? #WITPAO
An ✈️ 🧵

Every airplane has a registration number. Civil aircraft get them from their country's civil aviation regulator. In the US, registrations begin with the letter "N". Every civil aircraft has an N-number. Some government owned planes do too. For example, the Dept of Justice has 2 Boeing 757's
Did Congress authorize the receipt of Qatari 747 or was that technically a purchase?
Agreed, I'm just saying that even if they convince everyone that it was a lab leak, what does that actually get them?
Spiritually, you might as well be eating a shrimp cocktail.

OU: we are incredibly exacting. You have to satisfy the letter of the law without a single deviation
Beyond Meat: so here is an our meatless ‘pork’. It satisfies every detail you gave us. Will you certify it as kosher?
OU: No
Beyond Meat: why?
OU: It goes against the spirit of the law
Beyond Meat:…
I find the obsession with the lab leak theory bizarre because in a way, it doesn't matter. Even if the virus was man-made, it doesn't absolve the federal government of responsibility for responding to it.
Wasn’t there also one in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy?
A lawsuit by a sitting POTUS, in his personal capacity, against the Federal Government suffers serious 5th Amendment confrontation clause defects. As a rule, I think all lawsuits involving a POTUS should be held until after they leave office, with relevant SoL's tolled.

As a thought exercise, if POTUS sued someone in his personal capacity, the def. counterclaimed, and then POTUS claimed sovereign immunity, isn't that a good argument for the idea that no POTUS should be allowed to sue in a personal capacity while in office due to to the confrontation clause concerns
Martinelli channeling his inner Thierry Henry with that goal.
Is it correct that all of this only applies to the first TRO (calling up OR NG troops) and not the second, un-appealed, TRO (barring deployment of any NG to Portland), with the net result being that no troops can be deployed in spite of the panel's decision?
After reality TV had become part of our media diet, people realized that reality wasn't actually exciting enough for TV and so so reality TV started getting scripted. In 2016 people decided they wanted politics to resemble this new version of reality TV.
Why let the truth get in the way of a politically self-serving story?
