I have no idea how you could possibly stay high enough for that and also stay awake for the duration but fair play.

They can't even blame AI slop as it's years old.

I'm desperate for a good quality version of Near Dark but I just flat out refuse to buy that.
trevorkavanagh.bsky.social
I thought you were replying to my Near Dark Twilight and thought "on brand Jay".

I wonder if there's much difference between that and the Blue Underground 4k from a few years back which I have. Must investigate as Radiance generally do great releases.

Right up there with the Near Dark Twilight cover.
Bluray art work for Near Dark, making it look like a lost entry in the Twilight series

Absolutely. She was a lot. First scene I was thinking, if you start from here I hope you have the chops to keep it going.

She did not.

Crazy talk!

(I haven't seen that yet, on my list for this month)

Absolutely. He's fine, I do like him, as mentioned earlier The Order is getting there, but yet to be blown away by anything.

I really wish it got a bit more play than just 'that Nicolas Cage meme' film. Yeah it's fun but it's really interesting and it is doing a LOT. Love that film and Cage is incredible in it.
trevorkavanagh.bsky.social
No, unless the film is Vampire's Kiss.

I've been on the "Bram Stoker's Dracula is a GREAT film and youse are all fucking idiots" train since day one, cinema release. It's been a bumpy ride over the years but the train is getting pretty full now.

Undeniably a better film.

😂😂
See, this could have legs.

Dafoe should have had a word with Eggers and let him know.

Definitely opposites. We could be the classic mismatched buddy cops Tom, but just watching films and bickering rather than doing anything useful like solving crimes.

Very nice to hear.

It's great. Rural Juror I've never seen, seen precious few Clint films at really, not my guy. Maybe it's a me thing but with Holt, as I was saying to Ronan, I never have that immediate buy in. I definitely don't think he's bad or anything, but I feel I'm always looking at someone 'acting'.

I like The Order, very solid. He was fine, but I spent a lot of time thinking "do I buy you as a 1980s Pacific NW neo Nazi?". Last night "do I buy you as an olde time lamb chop sideburns guy?"
trevorkavanagh.bsky.social
Yep, watched The Witch Tuesday night, love that. The Lighthouse is great. I'm exactly the same as you with The Northman and it's really annoying because in theory I should really like it. Tried it twice though, Lighthouse cinema and at home, same conclusion.

Question that occurred to me during the interminable Nosferatu last night. While he seems like a very nice chap is Nicholas Hoult actually a good actor? And follow on, was About A Boy actually his best performance?
trevorkavanagh.bsky.social
I stuck this out to the bitter, dreary end despite knowing 20 minutes in it was guff. That's my Shocktober penance/endurance test done.
trevorkavanagh.bsky.social
I love The Witch and The Lighthouse. The Northman and Nosferatu, absolutely not. Maybe one of those that the more money and time you give them the worse they are.

Apart from a few nice daylight shots it looked like a BBC2 production, with an ITV level cast. Willem Dafoe the only one to come out with any credit. Worst Orlock/Dracula ever, imagine looking at Tom Hardy do Bane and saying "hold my goblet"

(unintelligibly)
