Agreed. The “sex object” trope in video games is ridiculous. This is both the oversexualized females and the “buff hero” males. It’s time for something a bit more low key. You can still be awesome without being a comic book character.

We like the concept of housing for players. We want to make sure that it’s useful as well as aesthetically pleasing. That being said, aesthetics are important!

Housing is one of those player items that gets mixed love. You’ve nailed a critical aspect of it though - rent is high! Players can have what they want in games, but in the real world that’s a problem. So let’s make sure this aspect gets the love it needs. Great vid!

It would be an anti-colonial outcome. Many of us struggle with how our identity fits in a modern world. This is one reason why we love the work we’re doing at Tumeke. The future is where western societies live, while indigenous ones are sidelined. We can, and should, have a future too.

If we as a society are going to use Māori imagery, Māori words, and Māori ideas to market ourselves and create an identity, we also need to respect Māori customs. Haka and Waiata are not optional. They are serious statements, with cultural significance.

AI is great. Don’t get us wrong. We’re an AI assisted studio.

But presenting AI to students to learn is way different than presenting AI as a set of concept pieces for a project you’re building.

Yesterday NZ Parliament was suspended after a haka broke out.

Again.

It was called contemptuous.

This is the voice of the local people being silenced because systems do not fit their expression.

We are using games to allow others to experience a part of this.
