Legends whisper that under Ostroh lies an underground city with hidden treasures of the Ostroh family and tunnels that remain unexplored to this day.

Researchers and travelers keep returning, drawn by its mysteries and the feeling that somewhere beneath the streets, history is still breathing.

In the Bernardine Courtyard stands a well built in 1620. Legends say it arose from a healing spring at the burial site of St. John of Dukla (1484).
In 1761, a rotunda with his statue crowned the well. During the full-scale war, the sculpture was removed for restoration, and in Feb 2024 it returned.

2/ On June 4, 2025, the oak lost its last living branch.
Its natural life has ended, but its image lives on as a symbol of deep roots, memory, and heritage.
A silent witness to centuries of Ukraine’s history.

1/ The Zaporizhzhia Oak, one of Ukraine’s oldest trees, stood for more than 700 years in Upper Khortytsia.
At 36 m tall with a trunk over 6 m wide, it was both a natural wonder and a cultural symbol. Mennonites in the 18th c. gathered under its crown for meetings, celebrations, and prayer.

Our flag was once banned, called a crime, hidden under Soviet terror.
But it never died. It flew in secret, it rose in 1990, and today it waves in battle.
Ukraine’s blue sky and golden fields stand for freedom and no empire will ever take them again. 🇺🇦

2/ The gully’s steep slopes and steppe forest hide more than views: tales of hidden treasure, ghostly monks, and the White Lady, Marya, whose heartbreak turned the Dnipro white.

Today? It’s a local gem for hiking, picnics, and photos, where nature, history, and myth meet.
