Among his many contributions, Kent deeply understood the connection between worker health and social justice. He saw the fight for safe and healthy work as inseparable from the broader struggles for workers’ rights, dignity, and respect.

In California, employers must take steps to protect outdoor workers from heat illness with water, shade/rest, and training. Employers must also have a written prevention plan that is available at all outdoor worksites and in a language that workers can understand. @californiadir.bsky.social
