Indiana is a public university. The gov of Indiana is a Republican & Republicans have a super majority in both houses of the state legislature.
So likely it’s because they weren’t making it a Republican mouthpiece & the university got scared.

This is a large reason why Jimbo is enjoying his annual millions of dollar paycheck that he was guaranteed. I think they only way it stops early is if he started coaching elsewhere.

The interim coach is t likely to suddenly turn everything around, so you aren’t “fixing” anything. Seems more like they are doing it to appease “fans” (aka big boosters)
And prospective coaches are going to be more hesitant to go somewhere that will turn on them like that.
