The admin filed briefs on Sept 29 about how they might proceed with DACA. These are NOT final decisions. The program hasn't changed yet.

Paulo's family, along with the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico, Singleton Schreiber LLP, and Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center, refused to give up. They filed a petition demanding his release, and a federal judge ordered his immediate release!

Despite having current DACA protections, he was torn away from his wife, Alejandra and their four children, including a four-month-old infant with serious medical conditions.

Paulo was abducted by ICE on August 13 when seven masked federal agents surrounded his vehicle in his driveway in Horizon City, Texas, with two of his young children in the car.

Paulo Cesar Gamez Lira, a DACA recipient and father of four U.S. citizen children, was freed after 42 days of wrongful detention in New Mexico after his community and family fought for his release.

Jean Carlos was ripped from his wife and two children for over 4 months despite ACTIVE DACA protections. Paulo was abducted in front of his four kids despite showing ACTIVE DACA work authorization.
