Another 4 am day. Is this a habit!?

I recently cut the pattern for simple bags in various shapes & sizes for my offering at a #selfdirectededucation #unschooling space. I cut out all the fabric this morning from used garments. #reuse #upcycle made a simple library tote from a vintage pillowcase.

Most days I'm not as productive but today started at 4 am and I'm still going. #slowliving #doingthenextrighthing

I did a couple hours sorting through fabric and other things in my #atelier.

Deep cleaned kitchen, including catching up on the hand washing. Started a batch of bread dough & sprouts.

Week into my Great Letting Go. I've sorted thru & delivered several eco bags full of mostly children's books. They give books out to anyone that wants them & do literacy programs for young folks around Philly.

Should I take it in to a shop or purchase a new bobbin case? It seems like there might be a mechanical issue. I'd like to learn to repair my own machine but don't know where to start. #audhd

I think there must be a snag on the bobbin case. Because the thread keeps getting wound around the bobbin case. Not the bobbin. It's nothing I've ever seen before. Which is weird because I have been sewing for decades.

Bobbin side. It seemed to be getting tangled on the bobbin case but I can't figure out why. I planned to watch some tutorials but moved on for a bit to destress. I would appreciate any recommendations or ideas. Thanks for responding.

Yes. I changed it this morning while troubleshooting. It correct needle, inserted correctly.

This morning I wrestled with my 2 main #sewing machines. My overlocker needs threaded, so nothing major but my regular machine is creating thread nests! I adjusted the tension, rethreaded, cleaned the bobbin space, rethreaded the bobbin,+ a couple other things. Help?

I went on a #trolltrek with some friends & N17 in Burlington NJ. The troll called Big Rusty was commissioned by the county. Then other artists made troll inspired sculptures. There's 18 in total throughout this country in North Jersey.

We had a good time. Plus I love #graffiti. #artcrawl is fun.

N17 & #jrda #teamusa won the gold 🥇 and got to pet kangaroos.
A22 spent beautiful long days carving on the beach & a few carving at skate parks.

I've been spending a lot of time helping my daughter navigate misogyny and the patriarchy. Helping her remember her own worth in a system that undervalues the effort, energy, work and skill of girls. Helping her navigate targeted interactions. Holding light in a system that rewards male mediocrity.
