Are they looking at what's happening or just staring at nothing? Right now there's several tells, but all of this is going to change as it's updated. It doesn't take expertise to know this is going to be extremely bad when discerning what is and is not true is already a huge problem for many people.

Generally people are a bit more animated in real life and don't just awkwardly stand around, or have strange jerky movements, cameras tend to follow what's happening. Paying attention to what people in these videos are looking at, too, is important.

Scrolling through reels endlessly has already felt like a net negative use of one's, but the passive engagement with short form media makes this increasingly dangerous. Be skeptical of low-res videos of things that seem too ridiculous to be true, weird non reactive behaviors, etc.

There's a far right account on Instagram sharing fake protest videos via Sora of people getting pepper sprayed after chanting ridiculous things. His followers are eating it up as truth while he lies about the origins of said videos (not surprising). People need to start REALLY paying attention.

What's disturbing lately is the volume of people sharing reels with me that are AI. Sora will start manifesting as a funny cat vid or possums getting scared of Halloween decorations, but it's gonna be used for darker things in an attempt to fool or indoctrinate people.
