It’s so funny to hear the stunt drivers talk about filming that sequence. Apparently the Charger so thoroughly outmatched the Mustang, the driver - the legendary Bill Hickman - couldn’t put his foot into it the way he wanted to. Otherwise, he’d have left McQueen in the dust.

And with a single solo, John Entwistle redefined the role of the bass guitar.

Yes, any civil officer of the United States can be impeached and removed. But the process is individual; it doesn’t happen en masse, as the original post suggests.

True story. John Roberts would contort himself into a jurisprudential pretzel to justify that interpretation.

Right? And can you imagine the chaos that would follow if EVERY civil officer had to be removed at the same time? That’s cabinet secretaries, department heads, judges…it would cripple the government.

This is an incorrect reading of the clause. It doesn’t mean that if the President is impeached and convicted, that all of his subordinates also get the boot. It simply provides that the impeachment and removal process applies not just to the Prez and VP, but to all civil officers.

Ours is also nuts. And reeeeeally derpy.

And as premiums go up, more and more people will drop their coverage, resulting in a death spiral of fewer insured and increasingly unaffordable costs. This is bad for everybody, no matter what side of the aisle they sit on.

Without the ACA tax credits, everyone’s health insurance premiums are going to go up. When that happens, a lot of healthy people will say “fuck it,” and cancel their coverage. When the pool of insured people gets smaller, what happens to their premiums? They go up.

But immigrants who entered the country illegally are not eligible for either program. Those immigrants are prevented by law from receiving federally funded health care. The notion that Democrats want to “fund healthcare for illegal aliens” is demonstrably false.

Illegal immigrants are not now and never have been eligible to receive government funded healthcare benefits. Democrats are trying to extend tax credits that make health insurance premiums more affordable on marketplaces established by the ACA, and reverse Medicaid cuts passed this summer.

The US Government is officially shut down, and according to Republicans, it’s because Democrats demand healthcare funding for illegal immigrants. Is that true? Are Democrats out of their minds?

Here’s the deal, gang.
