This was a strange plant growing in the edge of a pavement against a wall locally today. Phacelia tanacetifolia (Fiddleneck or Scorpionweed). Usually grown as a green manure plant!

Our Norfolk Royal Russet apples have proved very tasty to the larvae of the sawfly Hoplocampa testudinea with quite a few with feeding tracks!
