So can McGill take positions on geopolitical crises or not? (May 21, 2025/March 23, 2022)
I can’t tell what he said. Sorry. But that would be my guess.

Given the rapidly evolving political landscape in the United States and reports of individuals encountering difficulties crossing the border, CAUT strongly recommends that academic staff travel to the U.S. only if essential and necessary.

Oh yes, the famous Rami Davidian! His lies about women tied to trees and raped at the Nova festival just seemed bizarre. Especially since he said he covered them up and didn’t photograph them because “no one else should have to see this.” But then no one did forensics either.
The numbers of people he claims to have saved from the Nova festival varied in different interviews from 700 to 125 to some more reasonable numbers. But the Channel 13 report apparently claims he didn’t just exaggerate, he made it all up. I hope the report is leaked!

Slightly over 5 mins that I’ll have to split into 2 that @velcrocat.bsky.social brought to my attention 🖤 - he’s basically saying via a quote from VC that:

“This is very good. So basically Hizb & Yemen are the only ones fulfilling intl. law obligations under the genocide convention.”

💛 for posting this.
I’ve been too devastated by watching people on the Syrian Coast, Alawites and Christians, being massacred in the thousands: at least 5000 over four days. The videos are filmed by the Takfiri groups themselves who clearly state genocidal intent and enjoyment in killing Alawites.

“Aljazeera is INCITING to genocide in Syria.
They are calling civilians “regime remnants” and literally making them targets. And their journalists are embedded (as in travelling with) the death squads/“security forces”.
