An encouraging change, but Bernie Sanders he ain't.

He's been in my life since he was my Congressman (and was still "Charles" Schumer).

But he still hasn't done much to stand out in my mind after all these years. Nice glasses, though.
It's New York. We are our own universe.
Thanks. Glad we stockpiled the non-perishables.
My daughter's SNAP account said she had her full monthly amount. But when she tried to test it with a small online grocery order, she got an insufficient funds message.

Expect chaos, as usual.
This follows the pervasive change I hear in the pronunciation of "the" with a short "e" in front of words beginning with a vowel. "Thuh" oven, instead of "thee" oven. Sounds like a gasp. I hear it most frequently among the young.

Both of these changes sound odd to me, but that's language for you.
Non-professional observation here: I'm home all day with the TV on in the background. I'm hearing more and more people pronouncing the indefinite article "a" the long way -- "aaay" rather than "uh."

"Aaay" bag of chips. It will become the norm in short order.
Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia.

Foreign-born, and labeled a socialist although he was a Republican. A man of energy & principle who loved to mingle with his fellow New Yorkers.

If Zohran can track The Little Flower's path even minimally, there is hope for our City.
Surprised he didn't say "disaster."
Old Lady talking here.

The Establishment Dems are so scared of Zohran. Big mistake to try to denigrate him and his fanbase, subtly or otherwise.

Rather, they should be embracing the future, instead of trying to force the status quo on us. Do they really not get that we've had enough?
Someone has done that. Will they pay attention?

I'm sure my neighbors are tired of hearing me nagging them. They seem very surprised to learn that our girl never goes outside.

I've had 3 previous indoor cats, all of whom led happy, healthy, and very long lives.
Evidently the current regime isn't aware of the circumstances that led to the French revolution, n'est-ce pas?
I'm wondering: when viewers in deep Red states, many of whom receive SNAP benefits, hear this, do they nod in agreement and say "Yup, she's right" as they look in their empty fridges?
My neighborhood has a large newcomer population, & I guess it's still the custom in some areas to let your cat roam about.

So unsafe where there seem to be more cars than people. And there's lots of hissing & growling at night where the cats cross each other's paths.
This is such a problem in my #Brooklyn neighborhood, where we have a feral cat population, & many people let their house cats out at night.

Little corpses, scattered body parts (especially tails), and limping cats are not uncommon sights here. Keep 'em home. The ferals have more street smarts
Yes, I was wondering about that. A few too many gaps and generalities in the announcement. Not very FBI-like.
Just a few days ago our mighty tree had lovely yellow leaves. Then, on Thursday, #Brooklyn had dangerous flooding rain. And yesterday, Friday, we had gale force winds. And now, on Saturday, our tree looks ready for Winter.
As I've been telling you all, based on my years of experience as an legal admin asst among ultra-rich clients: they love the titles & the expense accounts, but have little interest in, or talent for, the actual work required for the position.
Besides which, I don't think he means "testing." What he wants is "detonation." Lots of big, dangerous, and toxic explosions to make himself look tough and scary.

The mad tyrant equivalent of a muscle car.
Wow, I never saw this in color before, only in afternoon cartoon shows on a B&W TV in my distant pass. It's way better better like this. Thanks.
