In this case, Jeff Somers was just checking for detection rate, without paying attention to the content itself. My guess is that the quality / relevance of the content would degrade more and more as you pass the text repeatedly through these tools, making it paradoxically easier for us to detect...

One of the positives of GenAI is that most of the essays / theses that students hand in these days are well written and easy to read. We can just focus on the science when marking.

Sure, you could use AI to summarize papers and explain them at a level anyone could understand... or you can turn the abstracts into music videos for no reason.

The tools are obviously not perfect yet, but the disparate elements (consistent characters, lip syncing, etc.) are evolving fast

The thing about vibe coding is it’s simultaneously super fun and incredibly inefficient. You get 80% of the way there in two hours and then spend x5 times as long correcting mistakes and going in circles.
