I wish I was good at drawing chibis and silly shit!!!! Anatomy rules are so deeply ingrained
Even if I'm not perfect it's so hard to break them
My toonies/chibis always wind up so over-detailed and uncanny because of it I feel like lol

huh, weird!
I sent you a message, hopefully that works!

BECAUSE SHE WENT IN AFTER HOURS TO FULFILL A BUNCH OF THE ORDERS HERSELF WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO COME IN AND DO THEM THE NEXT DAY

OH ALSO THE FUCKING TRAINEE WAS A WRETCHED WENCH WHO WAS REPLACING *MY BOSS* WHEN SHE GOT A NEW JOB AT A DIFFERENT STORE

ALL OF HER CORSAGES FELL THE FUCK APART, SHE GOT A TON OF COMPLAINTS, AND SHE DEADASS TRIED TO BLAME ME FOR IT

(4/4) and her daughter absolutely loved it, it made her whole day etc etc, and she hooked me up with a little $10 store gift card to thank me for making the time to do it :3
(the store assistant manager wouldn't let us refuse orders, even though it was me alone with a trainee)

(3/4)She showed me the dress, it was beautiful violet satin and sparkles and I had the perfect ribbon to match. Added gold glitter to some yellow roses with more delicate limonium filler instead of baby's breath, and after prom weekend her mom came back to work and thanked me a ton

(2/4) and she thought it was so ugly (it was like literally 90% baby's breath with a couple of yellow spray roses) and she said she prayed I had time to remake it for her because frankly it came out horrible.

(1/4)another fun story from the prom weekend. My store was a small local grocery chain. There was 3 floral managers, one being me. The head cashier's daughter, who i'd met cause she had a summer job with us, had her prom that year. Her mom ordered her corsage from the other store--

The way the girlies faces would light up when they picked their orders up <3 made all the annoyances worth it

I had a lot of freedom to be creative, i would get to use glitter spray, gems, feathers, tinsel, etc, I always tried to match a small detail on their dresses. If your dress had rhinestones then I would absolutely be gluing rhinestones to the center of your roses.

I had to use my own large wrist or a spray can to build wrist corsages off of so I tended to make them a bit too big. But I got so much positive feedback from the girls when they came to pick them up, they actually loved how big and bold they were! My work was more bold and colorful than standard

Another yap
First 3 photos were from one year where senior prom and mother's day fell on the same weekend
I would match the corsages to the girls' dresses for custom orders. And if the prom couples would both be on the same order, I would match the boys' boutonniere's to the girls' corsages :3

I hope you guys don't mind me yapping more LOL
I usually treat my socials outside of facebook as more of art galleries but I wanna engage more outside of fb in a more casual way??

(4) just let it continue to stink??? they told me to put baking soda and vinegar down the drain to flush it but it was such a waste of product because it helped for like a day and the stink would come back. Literally continued to blame me for the smell and refused to get a plumber in to look further
vintageringtail.bsky.social
(3) So he could check if anything was stuck in the U-joint that could be cleaned out.
and he absolutely wasn't supposed to (I wasn't supposed to either, but no one else would fucking do it) so we were sorta breaking rules by doing that but wtf else was i supposed to do!!!!!

(2) I checked my plants daily for dead buds/foliage and water running into the sleeves. None. never. everything was always clean. it was the sink, they wouldn't believe me, they wouldn't send a plumber. I had to ask my dad who has experience as a plumber, to come in and open the pipe for me

(1) another story about dumbass upper management
The sink at my dept had dead plant matter backed up deep in the pipes and it was kicking off a really foul smell. Not exactly what you want when you step into the flower shop.
They told me to "clean up the dead plants"
there were no dead plants.

they sold EXCEPTIONALLY well with my addons!!! The pink teddy one was my favorite

One of my favorite things to do was repurpose stuff that didn't sell, and make it into something unique!
Corporate would pick out the floral items for the weekly flyer. We had these stupid ivy hoops for Xmas that no one wanted, I had a ton left over, so I turned them into cute V-day pieces :3

Fun lore drop!
I used to be a florist!
I wouldn't mind at all doing it again, but I stopped because of pandemic and some awful life events during lockdown. Plus upper company management really sucked and wouldn't hire someone to fix my cooler so I was forced to stop designing arrangements :(

Commission for @ferretfloof.bsky.social!!
This one was so fun to work on and a nice change from my regularly scheduled uncolored sketches :3c
