It isn't just Lorre. Stars like Lon Chaney, Jimmy Durante, and Frank Sinatra appear ALOT in looney tunes. Mel Blanc was a professional radio impressionist. His work is a part of American cultural shorthand. Lorre looks/sounds weird and has become synonymous with horror so he's had more staying power

Ren from Ren and Stimpy was also based on Peter Lorre; not just his eyes and voice, but one of Ren's most infamous lines comes from the Maltese Falcon: "You bloated EEDIOT!"

Comics (cartooning, specifically) can be such a great avenue for artistically minded folks with ADD/ADHD because it requires simultaneously spreading our focus across like nine different disciplines and concerns. This perpetual novelty means we can KEEP focused in a way that is harder in other tasks

I know some of you are about to say "yeah keez it's ADHD" and listen. I hear you. but not everybody with ADHD is a cartoonist. my dad isn't a cartoonist. my dad went into healthcare and made money while having ADHD. no...no, there's definitely something else in there too. something...more dumbass
