Ah yes, the “Why aren’t you also authoritarian?” defense.

Couldn’t agree more. The amount of “Why don’t the Dems do something!!” is exhausting.

They did do things. Y’all just elected the other guy or stood home.
The notion of “illegal” immigrants is wild to me.

No human should be denied access to the Earth they were born on. Especially considering none of us chooses where to he born.

It’s absurd that human beings be denied access to their home (Earth) because someone needs to own shit.
Let’s be real here. Change comes from the bottom. Expecting elites to stop elites is naive.
They can be if you treat the law as a suggestion.

All that matters is enforcement.

…if half the states in the union choose to enforce these “magic spells” then what do you think happens?

People need to stop acting like the law or courts matter anymore. Nothing is stopping this regime.
I think everyone is tired.

Tired of struggling.

Tired of arguing.

Tired of seeing them gain inches while we lose yards.

Tired of the hate.

Tired of the gaslighting.

Tired of trauma.

Tired of the lies.

Tired of their bad faith arguments.

Tired of their bullying.

We are just all numb.
The core problem is this.

The Left has to innovate. It has to construct a world and a message where people want to go. Where they’re willing to take risks and be uncomfortable for progress. That’s hard.

The Right, just has to return to yesteryear. That’s not hard and also familiar. That’s easy.
We both know the NHL loathes the French part of the league.
Not every public service needs to be profitable. That’s why we tax people. So we can provide services that are good for everyone at a low cost.

Just give them more money and let’s move on.
Labor in this economy isn’t about profit or value. It’s about control. Always has been. Always will be.
Where you are born is an uncontrollable fact of human existence.

Denying the treasures and opportunities of human civilization to people who desperately yearn for it to satisfy greedy politicians, destructive corporations and hoarding nationalists is immoral

“Illegal” immigrants aren’t the problem
How does it make sense? The Dems knew the GoP stole the election. They allowed it to happen. Why?

Because it is to their benefit that the rich get richer.

They are just the other side of the coin. Both parties are running a “long con” and every single citizen has fallen for it.
Because Capitalism is about profit, not progress. People often think they’re synonymous. They are not.
In this day and age and this moment what I am about to say might annoy a lot of people…

But… immigrants are people too. This idea that they continuously end up “the villain of the story” while giant corporations fleece the public is beyond me.
The one thing I will never understand about American political culture is this thing where… it feels like “cruelty” is the policy and that’s just… I don’t understand why this whole “lets hurt the other side” mindset. This quasi-political-vengeance going on… that’s not the point of democracy.
The GoP have every single branch of government and the SCOTUS.

His odds of getting exactly what he wants… are quite good. Unfortunately.
Expecting elites to stop the creeping power of the elites is a strategy…

Or accept that the only way things will change is through bottom-up grassroots action.

Neither party was every going to protect the population. That was always a naive assumption.
The only people to blame are Trump and his sycophants. Acting like the only party committed democracy is the problem and not the party committed to authoritarianism is “She had it coming wearing a skirt that short.” energy.
People banging out about “little acts of kindness will prevent authoritarianism from crushing us!” have the same energy as “thoughts and prayers”. We are long past the point of change. All we have now, is survival.
All I know is all this rhetoric around kindness isn’t going to stop the march of authoritarianism. It doesn’t require that we participate, only that we comply. And people can be kind all that want, as long as the boot is on our necks it changes little how we are to each other.
Are Vermonters famously ambivalent towards Quebecois? I remember hitting up Burlington back in the day and I wore my Habs jersey. Got a lot of looks. The lady I was visiting told me they don’t like Quebecois because we’re rude, apparently. Pfft… tabarnak!
Dear Sunday, December 29th, 2024.

As the year closes out. Remember every new year is an opportunity to grow…

Sundays are sort of a micro “New Year”. They cap off my week and give me a chance to approach the next week with a new optimism.

Use this Sunday to decide where to grow next year

Oh thank you for this! I thought the T480 was their last upgradable model.

I don’t really follow the laptop space so it’s nice to see there’s still upgradable machines out there! I’ll check it out!
ThinkPad T480 was the last great, upgradable laptop.

Definitely do not miss that.

Sometimes a game is so awesome and it just sucks that the experience ends so soon. I like having the opportunity to continue exploring and adventuring in the world.

Is every DLC a hit? No. But capping the experience at the initial release sucks.
