When 4-year-old Shahriar was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), his family nearly gave up on treatment. They couldn’t afford the care he needed.

Because of World Child Cancer supporters, Shahriar received free medicines and counselling. His family now has hope for his recovery. 💛

Meet Geeta, a nurse in Nepal trained in spotting the early signs of childhood cancer.

She recalls 9-year-old Safal, who arrived with fever & bleeding. Thanks to her training, cancer was recognised early, and treatment began within days.

A key figure in that space is Aida Nkhoma, a dedicated play therapist at QECH.

Aida uses play to prepare children for medical procedures, distract them during treatment, and help them feel calm and secure.

💛 For children with cancer treatment isn’t only about medicine.

In Malawi, 7-year-old Shamila was diagnosed with leukaemia. Treatment left her unable to walk for months.

When she regained mobility, she was finally able to visit the hospital play area, a place that brought her joy and confidence.
