From Dept of Angels 9-month post-LA fires report, tens of thousands of families still aren’t able to return home. Families should be able to rely on the insurance they’ve been paying for years to hold up their end of the deal.

Communities across the Caribbean shouldn’t be paying the price of extreme weather. Real recovery means putting the cost of weather disasters on the oil companies that profit from creating this mess.

We stand with everyone impacted by #Melissa, and have compiled trusted organizations to donate to♥️
As Ellen, a Hurricane Helene survivor, shares: as extreme weather survivors, we have so much in common, and need each other to get through the ups and downs of recovery.

Join fellow survivors and mental health experts on Wednesday, 11/5 at 6pm PT/9pm ET: tr.ee/community-convo
We know #FEMA has never been a solution that fixes everything, but it's less reliable than ever before, leaving families to pick up the pieces.

No one should have to experience extreme weather, but when we do, we should at least be able to count on our government to help us.
We're thinking of everyone impacted by #HurricaneMelissa ❤️ If you're looking for ways to support the island, here are a few verified organizations from our friends in #Jamaica. We'll update with more information and resources as we have them.
This series is designed for summer camp counselors and parents of kids impacted by the Texas floods to connect, learn, and heal.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us for the Phoenix Stolen Summers tour stop on Thursday night -- honoring the people, places, and ways of life we’ve lost to extreme weather, while also showcasing the strength and creativity communities bring to rebuilding together.
Our monthly community conversations are designed by and for survivors, where you can learn from trauma experts, ask questions, and connect with people who get it.

If this sounds like the space for you, we’d love to have you at our next one on 11/5. RSVP and see future dates at tr.ee/community-convo
As our friend Alex, a Katrina and Helene survivor, shares, art can be healing. For survivors, creating art about our experiences is a way to “build out of chaos”.

Share your story and join us as we continue to build on this national storytelling tour: extemeweathersurvivors.org/stolensummers
Gina, a Hurricane Helene survivor and community leader, shares, “Art allows us to process some of that trauma that’s in our system that we can’t even in our conscious brain put words to.”

We’re thinking of everyone who might be impacted by violent weather this weekend— with Tropical Storm #Priscilla and a nor’easter on the way.

You don’t have to experience a hurricane or flood alone. We’re surviving this, together.

Feeling like it’s warmer than usual for October? It’s not just you. This kind of heat this late in the year is record-breaking (and breaking the bank with more expensive utility bills!).

The weather just keeps weirding out — whether it’s a heat wave in October or a 1-in-1,000-year flood.
Join us tonight to connect with trauma experts and fellow survivors as we discuss how navigating the aftermath of a disaster can, over time, lead to positive changes.

Whether you’ve been through a fire, hurricane, or other disaster—we’re here for you. Join the conversation at tr.ee/community-convo
We shared hugs, meals, helped rebuild a fence, and shared resources with Texas flood survivors recently. The state took 76 days to release emergency funding. Meanwhile, people had to keep going, showing up for each other and proving that community is the backbone of recovery.
Join our next community conversation as we talk through the process of understanding and integrating a traumatic event into your life story.

If you’re interested in learning more about how to find positive changes in the aftermath of extreme weather, this is for you: tr.ee/community-convo
Join Erica, trauma experts, and fellow survivors for our next community conversation as we discuss turning your pain into purpose after extreme weather, and explore ways to find resilience, hope, and personal growth.

“Be gentle with yourself, wherever you are.”

One of our mental health experts shared this during our last Community Conversation, and honestly? It’s always a timely reminder, especially for survivors.

Healing isn’t linear. Wherever you are today, it’s OK. Be kind to yourself ❤️
Our monthly community conversations are designed by and for survivors, as a space where you can learn from trauma experts, ask questions, and connect with people who get it.

Our next community conversation is Wednesday, 10/8 at 6pm PT / 9pm ET. RSVP and check out future dates: tr.ee/community-convo
September is National Preparedness Month, so now’s a good time to make sure you have a plan to stay safe in the next fire, flood, or hurricane. Here are a few tips from NC Governor Josh Stein, with advice we’ve heard from our community added in. What’s your advice for preparing for extreme weather?
We’ve matched 30 artists with 30 survivors to create art that honors their lived experiences. Our next stop is Asheville on Tuesday, September 30.
