one of my favorite food purchases as a poor person who loves Italian food is a live basil plant! it was $3 at winco, and even when used quite a lot, lasted me and my husband over a year before it needed to be retired. we just got a new one and having fresh basil amidst more canned stuff helps a ton!

I also generally don't open for comms because I work fulltime, but with losing SNAP benefits this month (and who knows how long in the future), I would really like to try to make up for it! I am happy to also do pet portraits, etc (just in time for the holidays, they make great gifts!)

oh yeah no its great if you do live in an area with options for it! when i lived near Baltimore I used it pretty often and the options were almost always really good!

a garlic press also works great! I have one and it is used all the time! a microplane works for grating garlic as well :3 fresh garlic really is a delight
